companies want to take COD down when they cant even get their own games right!
as ted price said games are becoming a service.
you cant release a game, release 1 or 2 DLC packs for it and move on.
you need to support your game for at least a year otherwise of course people are not going to stick with it!
people dont spend 100 bucks on a game to play it for a week and be done with it!
if anyones going to have a chance of taking COD down they need to out do them.
support the game extremley well with heaps of DLC and patches.
heaps of community support, double XP weekends, gaming with the devs, support the game!
and it MUST work on release!
those are the reasons why COD is so popular, if anyone going to have a hope of dethroning it then thats what they have to do!
there are SO many better MP games out there, but people have not flocked to them because they dont have the required support!
its like if you have a older boat, works perfectly well served you perfectly.
along comes a new team with a new boat.
its better then yours, but has half the staff so you have to do twice the work.
are you going to stick with your old reliable boat, or go to the new boat which is technically better but has less support?
i know which one id choose!
developers keep bitching that people trade games in.
of course people are going to trade games in when you support them so poorly!
you need to release year worth of DLC minimum, and thats MP AND SP DLC!
some people dont like MP like me, so you need to give them another reason to keep the games.
ive got maybe 12 games on my shelf.
why?
because when ive finished a game 99% of the time there is ZERO reason to keep it!
if i want to replay it i can always go purchase it again.
so why would i keep it if im rarely playing it?
DLC, expansion packs, these are the answers to fighting trades and taking down COD.
however developers will refuse to believe that.

Have to agree with you there. Like I've said in the past, Battlefield 3 simply wasn't ready for release. It's a great mp game, but DICE should have taken more time ironing out stuff. Here's to hoping to don't pay the ultimate price for their screw ups.

i have to admit ive been really disappointed in DICEs lack of readyness for this.
i mean the games been out for what, 6 months now and it still feels really rough!
this is EXACTLY why COD is and always will be the king of MP!
and why it will always be the sales reccord breaker!
because it works ON RELEASE!
not 6 months after, not a year after, ON RELEASE!
SP is a whole different story but when it comes to MP, and supporting your game no one does it better then IW!
