Apple has announced that its third generation iPad has sold a solid 3 million units after being on the market for just a few days, making it the fastest selling tablet in history.

“The new iPad is a blockbuster with three million sold – the strongest iPad launch yet,” worldwide marketing senior vice president Philip Schiller said in a statement.

“We can’t wait to get it into the hands of even more customers around the world this Friday.”

The new iPad costs anywhere from $499 for a 16GB WiFi version to $829 for a 64GB 3G model.

    not exactly surprising.
i just cant justify it, i mean everything it can do my phone can do.
so why would i shell out a minimum of 540 bucks for one?
if i could use it as a more portable laptop then i could justify it.
but you cant, its just a oversized ipod touch!

not surprising allot of devices have these issues close to release.
