Killzone 3 Goes Free-2-Play Via PSN

killzone 3

You read the headline right, Sony will will make available for free Killzone 3′s multiplayer component on the PS Store. This means you’ll be able to play the game’s award-winning multiplayer without paying a dime.

But like everything else, there’s a catch: what you get to play for free is limited to a level cap, and if you’d like to continue further, the cap can be unlocked for $14.99.

The game’s single-player portion isn’t present.

The US PS Store updates on Tuesdays so expect it then, while Europe should see it on Wednesday.

Confirmation came through the latest PlayStation Podcast.

i doubt this is going to help it much.
KZ2 and 3 floped for 1 simple reason.
2 had so much lag it was not funny, not to mention the persistent 5021 errors people were suffering from up until 9 months after release!
and both got such little DLC.
no weekly events either, like other MP games have double XP events, or game nights with the devs, KZ barley had any of these.
so i cant see this helping the game much.
it flopped because it had next to no support, making it free to play is not going to fix that.

The only issue I had with GG was that they didn’t offer any more Ops DLC. Other than that the support was good. And I’ve played that game more than any other.

KZ2 had loads of double xp events and game nights!! and it released three different DLC packs, thats alot more than ive experienced in any other mp FPS ive played. The fact that there are still a hardcore 6000 or so still playing kz2 to this day shows how good this game is, yeah youll say 100,000′s still play MW1 and 2 but just goes to show how much of a cult following this game had, yeah it didnt sell the most copies, but those who did spend the time on it, didnt leave it

6000? Not a bad number, Foxton.

easily, i played the other week, the good thing is it gives you your scores, daily, weekly etc from a sunday to sunday, i only played for an hour or so sat night and i was not even ranked in the top 8000 for that week. for your valour grand cross ribbon you need to be in the top 1% for that week, your need to put some serious work in to get this and have never seen this 1% bracket be any less than about 700th

@Fox: Wow. That’s awesome man. I’m really hoping that they make a few changes to KZ3 for KZ4.. Nothing much, just a few things to win back some fans. Because I really love KZ3.
