When Bethesda comes around releasing DLC for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the firm reckons the package will be so big it might as well be considered a game, as it’ll be more meaty that what Fallout has offered, and longer than some full games.
“For Fallout 3 we did five DLCs,” Bethesda’s Game Director and Executive Producer Todd Howard. told Kotaku at the DICE Summit earlier in February. “That was a very aggressive path for us. Our plan now is to take more time, to have more meat on them [for Skyrim]. They’ll feel closer to an expansion pack.”
While it’ll take more time to get such DLC out, fans of Skyrim shouldn’t worry according to the firm, as it’ll make available pieces of content in between free of charge.
“Because that gap is going to be bigger, we want to put little things out for free in between. We’ve already done that for PC with the high-res pack. We’re trying to figure out what those things are.
We knew before release that we were going to support it in a larger way, with lots of updates every month. We knew we wanted to do more stuff to bring mods to people.”
The game has been the biggest-grossing title in Bethesda’s history, and the second bestselling game in 2011, coming in second only to the mighty Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

thats what developers really need to do for their games.
they dont want people trading their games in, so they need to give them reasons to keep it.
game purchases as so many developers are saying have become a service, a investment into the future.
you pay for a game, then spend a small fee and i cant stress SMALL enough, to continue getting content for that game.
i can see games becoming allot more like MMOs and getting constant updates and expansion packs, only way to stop people trading games in really.
