Thirsty Conversations: Should Sony Allow Resistance To Die?

resistnew

The creators, Insomniac Games, have said they’re done with the Resistance franchise after the third installment brought the story their story to an end. The IP has also seen a steep decline in popularity, moving from the 4 million copies the first game sold, to less than 500,000 from the last. It’s like everyone abandoned the game after Resistance 2.

Here’s the simple question: Should Sony leave well enough alone and allow Resistanc3 to die? Or should their be some efforts put in place to revive the ailing IP?

Let’s talk, be honest: It’s The Official Games Thirst Bailout Plan.

me personally they this game would have sold better if sony knew how to advertise, i doubt the majority of people who played the first even knew this game was coming out. the only time i saw advertisment was at E3 and the VGA’s. i swear whoever does their marketing should get fired. i just ridiculous, i mean if microsoft and nintendo can properly promote why can’t sony? and you know this probably gonna be one of those what the heck moments but in my opinion Resistance 3 is the true defining shooter on PS3 period. Killzone is good and all but i just think resistance is a better franchise.

I dont want to see Resistance die. While I didnt like the first 2 games much, R3 really impressed me. I agree with Ghost that better advertising should have been implemented. But much like EG….resistance is nowhere close to Killzone. Notice the capitalization of Killzone lol. I also see Insomniac dropping resistance due to the company branching out to multiplat games. They wanna make $$$ and due to the falling sales of resistance, the probably feel that putting there staff to wrk on multiplats will be more profitable than putting same talents on improving of the resistance franchise. But Sony owns resistance franchise….can u imagine a Naughty Dog R4!!!!!!!!
