Nintendo’s confirmed that it’s Wii followup will see a release this holiday season, officially kicking off the next generation race.
That’s what Nintendo President Satoru Iwata told reporters today, also naming the regions in which the console will be available: United States, Europe, Australia and Japan for the year-end season.
It’s becoming clearer by the day that the next generation is really upon us, and with Microsoft and Sony not wanting to give Nintendo too great a head start, don’t be surprised if PS4 and Xbox 720 see their reveals at this year’s E3.
Thanks, Reuters.

im predicting a 2013 release. more than likely nintendo is gonna push it back
Think so, Ghost? I think they want to be ahead of the game. I think they’ll go ahead and release this year, with MS and Sony rushing out next.
i just don’t see it financially viable right now. just my opinion. first we gotta see the price. i dont expect people to even go no where near the wii u if its not at an affordable price. why would they buy a wii u when people can buy a cheaper xbox and ps3, and basically get all the games wii u will get. just doesn’t make sense too me.
