Xbox 360 Sells 66 Million Units, Over 40 Million Xbox live Subs

Wow. It’s been seven years since Microsoft launched the Xbox 360, and the console shows no signs of slowing. In fact, it sold around 10 million units during the Christmas season alone, bringing the total count to 66 million worldwide.

That’s according to Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer who shared the numbers at CES, who also announced that Xbox Live numbers were up drastically to 40 million users.

Will Microsoft launch the next Xbox as soon as is being predicted when Xbox 360 shows no signs of slowing? No doubt they will, because just like Sony launched the PS3 when PS2 was still the bestselling console on the market, Microsoft will not risk losing any of its base to Sony and PS4.
