Gamers can expect Infinity Ward to continue supporting Modern Warfare 3 way after the next Call of Duty game is released as many millions will continue to play it, but even now there are a few fixes gamers are looking from in the upcoming patch, version 1.08.
Lag and Host Migration – This call will continue until Activision gets dedicated servers for Call of Duty games. Nothing is worse than being knee deep in a game, winning and all, only to have your fun spoiled by a “migrating host”. This happens when the host of the game’s on the losing team and decides he’s done. If another host isn’t found, then forget it: your killing spree’s been lost. This must be fixed.
Difficulty Finding Games – I know some gamers who, most of the times, can’t find a game on their own, instead they must piggyback on a friend’s party to join. I first heard to complain from one friend, but now the trouble’s latched on to other gamers.
Strict Nat – Okay, so I know this one’s on the gamer’s end, where he/she needs to open up the router being used, making it moderate or open. This would ease a lot of the matchmaking problems gamers are fielding. Infinity Ward’s embedded a link on the MW3 multiplayer main menu, one that, when visited in the past, would give a broken link. Now, however, the developer’s updated the page with actual information and links to leading router brands.
I decided to include this as a fix gamers a looking for anyway so they could know it’s been dealt with.
Other issues include balancing, bugs, map exploits and some overpowered weapons.
The last patch, version 1.07 included:
Hot Fix Updates (Releasing Today 12/12/11):
Fire rate normalization for Assault Rifles with undermounts
FMG9 Re-balancing (Nerf)
Akimbo FMG9 Re-balancing (Nerf)

Type95 Re-balancing (Nerf) – Reduce hipspread.
Fix for ACR with Red Dot / Shotgun
Fix Type 95 bug related to dropping it.

That same patch also introduced new, user-created modes to the game’s main playlist, the most popular being Drop Zone.
