Like many games from Japanese developers, development of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be lead on PS3.
It was Platinum Games producer Atsushi Inaba who shared the news via tweet. He said: “So, in closing, Metal Gear Rising’s lead platform is also PlayStation 3.”
This clarification was important because Platinum Games last title, Bayonetta, was first developed on Xbox 360 with the firm handing over PS3 porting to Sega. The whole thing turned out terribly, leaving PS3 gamers unconvinced that Platinum Games cared enough to make a decent game for the console.
Moving forward, Platinum Games developed Vanquish and the upcoming Anarchy Reigns with PS3 as the lead platform.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will release next year for PS3 and Xbox 360.
