Saving The Best For Last: Big PlayStation Exclusives Coming This Christmas

Saving The Best For Last: Big PlayStation Exclusives Coming This Christmas

Sony goes hard, don’t it?

In an interview with OPM UK, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe boss Jim Ryan told the magazine that he would rather it if Insomniac Games were still exclusive to the PlayStation brand, however the developer’s new multiplatform status doesn’t affect them much because of first-party strength. He also said there are some rather big reveals coming before the year’s out.

“In an ideal world would we prefer them still to be working exclusively on our platforms? Yes probably,” said Ryan, however, “the strength of our internal studios at the moment means it isn’t the end of the world by any means,” he added.

Ryan then teased that there were some big PlayStation reveals coming before 2011 is out.

“There’s a bunch of stuff at the back end of the year – I’ll just tease you with this because I’m not going to tell you what because I can’t – which I’m very excited by, and you’ll hear about [them] over the coming months. [They'll] give you plenty to write about.”

Now how about that for a tease?

Thanks, CVG.

    oh bull ^%$#!
loosing insomniac is a massive blow for $ony no matter how they try to spin it!
resistance is one of the best new IPs this year, and R&C is one of the best IPs ever created!
overstrike is looking really cool too, would of made the perfect exclusive!

@Nick: I think they’re just fine without Insomniac.

Insomniac does not completely own Resistance and Ratchet & Clank so those two games can’t go multiplatform even if Insomniac wanted to.
