We’ve been talking about this for a while, and Sony once said they were in the process of revamping PSN. But have the firm been working tirelessly undercover on a service revamp to wow the gaming world? A beta invite sent to one of our users sure points towards it.
The image below was sent to us by Gamesthirst user Afrotravis, who’s been invited to be part of the beta. As you can see, the XMB looks totally different from what’s available now, and it certainly looks more alive.
It’s apparently called “PSN Beta”, and we can think of nothing else but a revamp of the service the reason for said beta. We’ll contact Sony for more information.
Thanks, trav!

is that the xmb or the psn store?
It looks as if it’s one thing, Ghost, where everything is accessible through the main screen.
@Ghost: Some are saying it’s actually the PSN store…. and not a revamp altogether….but my PS Store is not appearing like this… Sony’s working on something….
wont have anything to do with the XMB, $ony will never be changing that.
i kinda like the ninty dashboard, i wish they would go with something like that for there next console.
Well PSN does need a revamp. The thing looks sick compared to Xbox Live.
I logged into PlayStation.com and saw the very image atrovavis sent me, however I didn’t see the “PSN Beta” option on my screen…
i don’t mind the xmb …now that i can navigate it wen my screen is turned off…. but hopefully they r working on a new psn face lift.. may be they should hire gamesthirst web designers for this project…
Im confused, is it supposed to look exactly like the actual us.playstation.com website?
@Robert: I think not. We’re hoping for a real uplift and this is definitely not it. Again, it’s a rumor, so we should take this with a grain of salt.
Seems as if we were on point.
