FIFA 12 Sells 3.2 Million In Its First Week On Sale

FIFA 12 has bested Gears of War 3 to become the biggest launch title in 2011, as the game’s sold 3.2 million in its first week on sale, whereas Gears of War 3 did 3 million.

It’s expected, however, as FIFA 12 is a multiplatform title, compared to Gears of War 3, an Xbox 360 exclusive.

The previous FIFA title sold 2.6 million in its first week on sale, so there’s a definite improvement over last year.

Meanwhile, EA Sports titles managed the busiest day in online gaming history on FIFA 12′s Saturday, with 8 million FIFA 12 games being played, resulting in 10 million game sessions across all titles. Players have also raked up over 3 million hours of game time since the football game launched.

Amazing stats.

Thanks, D’toid.

why? because its an absolute beast thats why! Football is the greatest, and most supported sport in the world, and is a way fo life for literally billions of people. EA has over the years built up a reputation that no other football franchise can touch.
I have to say as a FIFA fan this is the best one by a long way. It may not be everyones up of tea. But if your a footy fan like most people are, this is THE game to buy.
Still we all no this will be short lived as it will be trounched when MW3 comes out…

WHY?? Because it’s FIFA…and it’s not good, it’s GREAT. This FIFA game has some really good improvements and is a lot of fun to play. I do not have my personal copy yet but was at a friends house and played it. The career mode is really good and the did listen to the fans and improved a lot of the problems we pointed out from FIFA ’11.

so true. the online features on fifa 12 are unreal. I used to play fifa 11 just on a friday night when a few mates came round,as there was very little to keep you entertained when playing on your own, but the improvements on Career Mode and the FIFA Ultimate team, as well as new online seasons, head to head mode and support your team, make you feel compelled to constantly play it to represent your team! And i tell you nothing is more satisfying in the gaming world than scoring a 90th minute winner in online mode. And i have played a lot of online gaming in my time!

FFFFFFIIIIIIIIIFFFFFFFFFAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!! im hooked to the point of a potential marital split. as someone said the wealth of modes means you have multiple teams that you are personally invested in.(your ultimate team, career team, and online team.) all going on at the same time. just keeps you going back for just one more match……. without a doubt for me the best Football game ever made.

    Bored never!
