Mass Effect 3 is to get a multiplayer component for the first time in franchise history, as an African retailer has advertised an “online multiplayer pass” for the RPG.
The pass is mentioned as part of the Collector’s Edition.
EA said in Vegas last week it was to release “big news that a lot of you have been eagerly awaiting” for Mass Effect 3 “within the week.” But I guess the African retail outlet beat the publisher to the punch.
There’s also talk from magazine Xbox World that a massive Mass Effect reveal was incoming, so we’re certain it’s the MP announcement.

Mass Effect doesn’t need a multiplayer.
Co-op would be nice though.
I agree with Joe. I wish many games would add Co-op instead of an online multiplayer.
Agree with both of you guys!
im 99.999% sure this is gonna be co-op. death match and capture the flag just doesn’t fit the game.
Agreed with you there, bro. I’d love that!
i thought it was strange EA had confirmed this playable this month at the convo but had not confirmed what would be playable.

this is probably why, did not want the news getting away too early.
if only the MP is playable though im gonna freak!
thats the game im going there for, i wanna play the story not some crappy online mode!
thats what has really disappointed me about it, allot of the games on show are MP only.
i was getting so excited to play the level of U3 from E3, then $ony came out and said were only showing off LAN.
WTFs the point showcasing a feature at a convention which so many have played in the beta, and even more have access to right now!?
im gonna go right up to the rep and slap him so hard if the campaign is not on display!
