The demo of Bodycount went live on Xbox Live earlier today so we decided to give you a first look to see if it’s worth the download time. Check it out for an overview of what to expect in the game all to the backdrop of some of the most kick-ass action available. Bodycount might not be the prettiest or most revolutionary game to come out this year but bloody hell is it good fun.
To be totally honest I didn’t expect much going into Bodycount. After watching a wealth of trailers and mini-documentaries I was almost ready to write Bodycount off as being “yet another First-Person Shooter”. To be fair on myself their is some truth to that. Bodycount (well the demo at least) seems set to not deviate from the classic “shoot things until they are dead” formula to any large degree. It’s not the new game mechanics that impressed me, it was just how well polished and fun the old ones were. It’s hard to see in videos but once you get your hands on the controller, the feeling of playing the game fills you with a sense of power that is rarely experienced in gaming. Everything runs smoothly at a blistering speed and wielding the powerful feeling weapons and blasting through anything and everything in your way is something that will take a long time to get old.
After my fourth playthrough of the demo in which I kidded myself that I needed to play for research reasons everything fell into place and I perfectly understood everything that the game was about. I will need to see some decent footage of a solid multi-player to justify a day one purchase but this demo has done enough to get me excited about Bodycount for the first time. I strongly recommend that you try out the demo for yourself and why not let us know in the comments what you thought of the game. I’m going to head off and give it one final playthrough myself… for research.
