Batman: Arkham City Looks “Poor” Compared To PC Version

We’re expecting, from what we’ve seen, that Batman: Arkham City will look excellent on consoles, but just like most other games, when compared to PC, everything pales in comparison – and Arkham City’s no exception.

PC Gamer got a chance to test out a few levels of the game, and their conclusion was rather blunt:

“Even ignoring the absence of DirextX11 and PhsX effects – holy crap, do the console textures look poor in comparison [to the PC version],” said the magazine, as reported by Arkham City UK.

Blunt words indeed, and they’re making it sound as if the game’s console textures are very poor.

Batman: Arkham City comes out on October 18th for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

there not making it out that the console textures are poor, just that they look poor in comparison to the PCs ones.
which you would expect when the PC offers most cards these days have over 1GB of DDR5 video memory where consoles are half that and at roughly half the speed.
not to mention they only have 256 and 512 of ram respectively, where, well, even the 500 dollar PC 5 years ago came with 4GBs of ram!
batman AA was one of the very few games that actually made really good use of current hardware, so i expect nothing less of this.
especially the DX11 and physX effects, those of AA were outstanding!

I just read the PC version will also boast 3D.

    of course.
all PC games now support 3D, thats how nvidia have setup the drivers.
only bad thing about that is, all 3D glasses make the image darker, but nvidias are by far the worst!
its like playing your game with 8 pairs of sunnies on!
