
Yesterday’s report has proven to be true: 2K Games has formerly confirmed Borderlands 2 for a 2012 release, and it’ll be helm by the same guys who took on the first, Gearbox Interactive.
The game will be present at GamesCom 2011 in Cologne Germany in the next two weeks. It’ll also be present at PAX Prime.

2K Games and Gearbox Software announced today that the sequel to the
extravasplosive breakout hit, Borderlands(TM), is currently
in development at world-renowned developer Gearbox Software. Coming to
the Xbox 360(R) video game and entertainment system from Microsoft,
PlayStation(R)3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC during
Take-Two’s fiscal year 2013 beginning on April 1, 2012, Borderlands
