We recently claimed that Uncharted 2 has the most beautiful scenery we had ever seen in a video game. So has the games developer Naughty Dog decided to sit contented with their incredible game engine and beautiful art style or are they stepping up their game once again.
The video bellow showcases gameplay from the Uncharted 3 Beta and Uncharted 2. Bare in mind that for Uncharted 3 it is still only the beta so the graphics are likely to be improved by the time of release. Watch in HD and full screen for the best view of both games graphical fidelity.
Uncharted 3 comes out this November for the PlayStation 3 exclusively.
hard to say because of different environments and it is a beta, but i found the graphics to be better in uncharted 2.
they have some really low res muddy textures on the stone walls, especially in the courtyard co-op map.
climbing up the wall, to where the treasures always stored you can see some really low res textures.
ND got allot of work to do on this!
not only graphically wise, but there is so much lag, FR drops, crashes, jaggies, so many problems it makes me think this is pre alpha not beta code!
hell look at the early kz3 beta in december last year.
that was pre alpha code, not beta code, and that run and looked like retail code!
hopefully ND pull there socks up and put the finishing touches on this, because, well, they dont exactly have long left!
3 months till gold date, they better get a move on!
Indeed. I don’t think it’ll look that different from UC2 to be honest…They’ve sucked the blood out of PS3.
I agree Gilbert, the 2 do not look that different. Played the beta for about 30mins by a friend the other night. It’s a lot of fun.
its a beta though, i remember they made allot of improvements from the uncharted 2 beta to retail so never know.
not that it needs it though, i mean besides all the technical hitches, it looks amazing!

It think at the moment they look the same in a screenshot. But their are plenty of graphical glitches when playing the beta. You can then assume that must have done come changes to engine to improve it. If they just used the old engine then surly everything would be sorted.
Anyway both look incredible.
