Dice On Battlefield 3: “We Go For Quality, Not Quantity”, Get Ready For “Awesome Jets”

by Ernice Gilbert on June 28th, 2011, under EA, FPS, Hot, News, PC, PS3, Xbox 360

DICE is understandably pumped about its latest shooter game Battlefield 3, so much so that the developer’s putting all its resources into making it the best title ever. But in making the “best game ever”, there must be give-and-take, and in order to make the console version standout, DICE has opted for 12vs12 as the max online matches will include. But some gamers have questioned if not 64 like the PC, why not 32 like some console games?

To that, Global Battlefield Community Manager at DICE Daniel Matros has given a worthy response.

When asked by a fan about 32 players, and whether they kept the count down because of quality, Matros replied: “That´s the reason. We go for quality and a great experience. Not quantity”

Concerning why DICE had gone cold after it’s bombastic show at E3, Matros said it was because they “are hard at work making the best game ever :)

And for those itching to man the vehicles Battlefield games are known for, Matros said, “More info will come! Don´t worry :) Soon you will enjoy the awesome jets.”

Battlefield 3 goes on sale for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on October 25th.

12v12 or 16v16…I just hope that we will be able to communicate with the whole team instead of the system the had on BF:BC2 were you could only communicate with you 4 man squad.

    absolutely!
only if more developers thought like this!
as the saying goes, its not the size that matters, but how you use it.

True. I’ll love to have both, though. Quantity and quality.

yea, would be nice to have the best of both worlds.
but to have 32 players on consoles they would have to cut the maps sizes, cut the detail, cut everything!
MAG had 256 players and to be honest it suffers for it!
belgian parve is smoother then that game!
