Report – Geohot Now Employed At Facebook

So that’s the way of life, then. Hack the life out of the PS3, get Sony pissed until the firm sends its dogs after you in the form of a lawsuit. Settle out of court and then get hired by one of the most powerful and influential tech companies in the world – Facebook.

See kids, that’s the way you do it.

According to TechUnwrapped, George “Geohot” Hotz, the young man responsible for hacking the PS3 and releasing its root key on the internet for the world to see, and in turn allowing custom firmware to run on the console which attracted countless hackers all vying to release pirating software on the system, has now landed a job at Facebook.

“Facebook is really an amazing place to work…first hackathon over,” it’s reported to be George latest status update on the social site.

According to his friends who’s seen the page, GeoHot took the job in May and advised friends of the new position in mid-June. He hasn’t responded to media and hacker friends concerning this report.

Hotz and Sony settled out of court in early April ending with a permanent injunction against the hacker for PS3 and future Sony products.
