Microsoft Prepping Free-To-Play System On Xbox 360 – Report

by Ernice Gilbert on June 24th, 2011, under Hot, Microsoft, News, Xbox 360

Multiple sources close to Develop have told the site that Xbox 360 is making ready a system that would see free-to-play games workable on the console.

The sources claim Microsoft is discussing possible free-to-play deals with developers, with the business model offering either in-game items or premium upgrades using MS Points.

Redmond haven’t responded. We’ll keep you up to speed as soon as they do.

i seriously cant see that happening.
simply because of M$s XBLA policy.
they wont let any developers run there servers, M$ requires full control over them and allot of developers dont want that.
tis why we have seen so few MMOs on the 360, tis the only reason why FFXIV is not on the 360.

I think they’ve realized what’s happening and are jumping on the band wagon. Don’t be surprised if they allow this.
