Good question, RastaCC. But you must think of this in a different way. Battlefield 3 is supposed to be a standalone title, right? DICE might want to take on Bad Company 3 in the future – and as we all know, BF3 is not a sequel to Bad Company 2. With that being accomplished, DICE must make Battlefield 3 a standout title. It can have similarities like every other shooter, but it has to stand out, or else a Bad Company 3 in the future would be….futile…

I think they definitely need to take what worked and what didn’t into account from Bad Company 2. One could argue that pretty much any sequel is a rehash of a previous game. Look at all of the FPS Halo games. Look at all of the COD games. What is the big difference that people are looking for to absolutely distinguish BF from BF:BC2
