First Look: Sonic Generations

by Joseph Garrett on June 23rd, 2011, under First Look, Sega, Video Thirst

The Sonic franchise has had it’s fair share of highs and lows over the last 20 years of titles. The the extreme highs of beautiful graphics and fast paced gameplay that were seen in the first three games, to the disappointing lows of countless spinoffs and failed tentative steps into 3D plains. But while the past 20 years spent with the worlds most famous blue hedgehog have had their fair share of disappointments, it looks like we will be celebrating Sonics 20th birthday with a bang.

Sonic generations is a combination of the now legendary classic sonic games, combined with the best of everything that modern sonic has to offer. Getting the perfect balance of nostalgia and innovation is a tricky road to tread but if the demo of Sonic Generations is anything to go on, then Sega are doing the franchise justice.
