Battlefield 3 Got Inspiration From Mirror’s Edge

Naughty Dog will tell you that Uncharted and Nathan Drake was inspired by many of the greatest franchises in the market. And with good reason, if you want to be the best, you must learn from the best, right? Same goes with Battlefield 3, the game’s set to be one of the most awesome pieces of entertainment ever released, and it too has taken inspiration from big games before it, but one unlikely place is….wait for it…..Mirror’s Edge.

Speaking in a recent interview at Dream Hack, Karl Magnus Troedsson, DICE’s general manager said, vaulting was inspired by Mirror’s Edge. The game also inspired the ability to see your feet and arms in BF3.

Big maps are also making a triumphant return in Battlefield 3, and they’re very big. El Alamein big, that is. For those who remain clueless, El Alamein could fit in any Bad Company 2 map more than four times, and still leave room to fit you house. Awesome stuff.

The game comes out on October 25th for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
