The PR firm needed to be fired. They were the ones, not 2K, lashing out at the media.

LOL....that's smart. Firing the PR firm that markets your game is NOT gonna change the fact that the game sucks. I am so glad I didn't pre-order this. A friend of mine told me do not even waste my time with this game.

Wow. I should repost this on the site. Nice review there. It's clear, then, DNF gets 5/10 from GT! Don't buy it!

morons!
the game deserves the poor reviews it
received!
it would be ok if the game was pure mindless fun like its suppose to be but its not!
the game failed on all fronts!
theres 2 sides to a game, the technological side and the fun entertainment side.
technological side, well, it looks and plays like a freaking early ps3 game!
long load times even though it had a MASSIVE 30 minute HDD install!
so many bugs im convinced gearbox did not make it, i swear obsidian did!
heaps of graphical issues like pop in, screen tearing, jaggies, low resolution textures, poor frame rate.
so put simply its as technologically advanced as say haze!
then theres the MOST important thing about ANY game, but duke especially since its never been a powerhouse, duke has always relied on the gameplay.
and in DNF its not fun, its boring, frustrating and as repetitive as it could possibly be!
the shooting mechanic is really weird, never have i found it so hard to aim at enemies.
dunno if its a hit detection issue or something else, just feels really cumbersome and clumsy.
like its constantly tripping over itself!
the level design is pretty poor, it was nice to see some different environments but the way its laid out is pretty much cut and pasted throughout the game.
then theres the most infuriating part but yet the best part of the game!
the boss battles.
most infuriating because you can spend 30 minutes killing a boss, deplete all of its health all you have to do is go up and start the QTE sequence and as your running up you get hit once by a enemy and thats it 30 minutes down the drain start all over a freaking gain!
thats the thing that pissed me off the most about DNF!
dukes a freaking PUSSY!
get hit twice and your dead.
WTF?
the standard enemies the pig cops have to get hit several times to die depending what weapon obviously, but you dont?
i thought duke was a bad a$$ not a freaking pussy!
then theres the 2nd almost most disappointing part of the game.
the weapons!
duke is known for its outrageous cool out there weapons, it was the insomniac of its day!
but in DNF, this is the most consistent complaint i have read in reviews, is the only strong enough weapon is the shotgun.
everything else feels FAR too weak!
i found myself using a shotgun all the time, i dont think i EVER dropped it in my entire playthrough!
every other weapon is far too weak, especially the ripper in DN 3D that weapon was kick a$$ almost as strong as the shotgun!
in DNF though you need to sink 40+ bullets into a enemy with the ripper to kill them!
this is a high powered machiene gun, 15 bullets should be more then sufficient to kill a standard enemy!
not 40!

then you come to the WORST part of the game!
the f*cking puzzles!
they are so freaking boring, infuriating, just makes me want to fly out to gearbox and slap them silly!
i thing IGN described these the best, the gunplay is ok, but theres so much filler in between the platforming and puzzles are really poorly thought out, poorly implemented, poorly tested.
and not to mention as entertaining as watching oprah!
thats what destroyed DNF for me!
the clumsy controls, poor level design, crap graphics, bugs, all that i could ignore if the gameplay was FUN!
but its not, the gun play is ok but you have 5 minutes of watching your favorite show then 5 minutes of watching your most hated show!
i wish they cut all these stupid puzzles and platforming bits out of the game!
yea that would mean it would end up being like 5 hours, but id much rather 5 hours of my favorite show, then 5 hours of my favorite and 10 hours of my most hated!

i was expecting this to be like just cause 2.
crude cheesy poorly put together, but a hell of a laugh, and a even better good time!
a epic fail in the technological department, but pretty good, not great, but pretty good in the fun entertainment department.
DNF sadly though was a epic, epic, EPIC FAIL in ALL departments!
to be honest i think the games bloody lucky its getting the reviews it is, if it was up to me id be getting a 5!
for once, i actually think IGNs scores a little too high..........
