The hacking continues. Just after we reported that Lulz Sec had taken down Bethesda “weeks” before the firm reported the breach, the hacker group is at it again, this time hacking into and taking down Eve, Minecraft and League of Legends. Gaming site Escapist has also been lashed by the group, apparently doing it all the for “lulz”.
“EVE Online and related services are currently offline, to return ASAP after investigation of some issues,” CCP confirmed, then later adding: “EVE Online and related services experienced an Internet attack. We have taken them down as a security precaution.”
The Minecraft servers have since then gone back online, but you still can’t visit Eve’s.
According to Lulz Sec, the servers of Minecraft were “100″ taken offline, but game creator Notch has since tweeted the game’s back up, adding he just “hope it lasts”.
Lulz Sec is now laying off Minecraft, because they’re apparently planning something bigger:
“We’re eying up the next target… laying off Minecraft,” reads the tweet. “So go play that. Preparing a cannon attack on our main artillery shells!”
As of now, Lulz Sec is responsible for hacking into and rendering inactive Sony Pictures, Bethesda, Nintendo, Minecraft, Eve, League Of Legends and the gaming website Escapist.
Is there no end to this madness?
