Sony’s announced that it’ll re-release select PSP titles on the PS3, coming with bonus content and in full HD.
They’re called “PlayStation Portable Remaster Series” and will also come ready with control pad support, online functionality, and the ability to transfer game save data between the handheld and home console.
The first title to receive the “remastered” treatment will be Monster Hunter Portable 3rd (Monster Hunter Freedom 3), and is set to launch in Japan this summer. Monster Hunter is the uber-popular RPG that’s yet to be released anywhere outside Japan, and we know gamers from the west have been itching to get a taste of the game.
Yet we don’t know a whole lot concerning the “Remaster Series”, things like pricing and methods of distribution. We know, however, PSP has lots of great titles we’d love to see come to PS3, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed. After all, Sony knows its base…right?
