Yesterday Sony detailed the “welcome back” package it’d promised all PSN users a few days after it announced the service had been severely hacked, and while some are very well pleased with the package, others are disgusted with it, saying it’s not enough. Of course, Sony knew there’d be disgruntled users, but like in any other case, you simply can’t please everyone.
“It’s impossible to please everyone of course,” said SCEE Blog Manager James Gallagher in response to a gamer asking that more be given to avoid people from switching to Xbox 360.
“But I think all five are quality games. And if I remember right, the PSN outage occurred during a bumper month in PlayStation Plus, which you will also be able to make the most of.”
Both U.S. and EU members will be allowed to select games out of the five listed below for PS3, and can keep them “forever”.
1 – LittleBigPlanet
2 – Infamous
3 – Wipeout HD/Fury
4 – Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty
5 – Dead Nation
PSP owners get to choose two out four titles, they include:
1 – LittleBigPlanet PSP
2 – ModNation PSP
3 – Pursuit Force
4 – Killzone Liberation
If you’re in Germany, instead of InFamous and Dead Nation, you will be offered Super Stardust HD and Hustle Kings, and rather than Pursuit Force and Killzone Liberation, will be able to choose from Everybody’s Golf 2 and Buzz Junior Jungle Party on PSP.
PlayStation Network users in the U.S. and E.U. and Caribbean will receive:
– 30 days free PlayStation Plus membership for non PS Plus subscribers
– Existing PlayStation Plus subscribers will be given 60 days free subscription
– Existing Music Unlimited subscribers will be given 30 days free subscription
Personally, I think it’s a pretty good deal.
