EA’s gone mental about this whole Battlefield 3 versus Modern Warfare 3 “battle”. The publisher has said in the past it believes the DICE-developed Battlefield 3 is a better game, with a better engine, and people simply need to know this. So, with guns ready to blaze, the publisher’s made the decision to release the aforesaid title close to Activision’s juggernaut, Modern Warfare 3.
That’s what MCV is reporting, citing one of its source, who told the site that the next Call of Duty and Battlefield 3 will release “within days” of each other, and that the November release date of Modern Warfare 3 will be made official on May 23rd.
Apparently, EA doesn’t want Activision alone in the spotlight with Call of Duty anymore, and will release its game “as close as possible” to Modern Warfare 3.
“EA hasn’t been shy with Battlefield 3. It’s well known it will tackle CoD head-on,” the source retail source uttered. “We’re ready for them to arrive within days of each other.”
Meanwhile, Activision’s making no mention of the competition, instead it insists the new Call of Duty title will once again “reset” the fps genre, and take online gaming to new realms. Obviously, the “battle” is on.
