Sony Might Lose Developers In Light Of PSN Scandal, Says PixelJunk Boss

by Ernice Gilbert on May 11th, 2011, under Development, Hot, News, PSN, Sony

The PSN downtime is affecting everyone, but not many groups are bearing the hurt like PSN developers who make a living by creating great games for the online service. PixelJunk is one of them, and according to the studio’s boss, Sony might lose developers if something doesn’t happen fast.

That’s what Dylan Cuthbert said while speaking to Industry Gamers recently, adding Sony should do something to help the devs when all is said and done.

“At the moment I think they are running around patching holes etc., and in a week or two they’ll have something more concrete to say,” he said.

“I have no idea yet what Sony are going to do to help developers such as ourselves,” he said, “but I have a feeling they are thinking about doing something or they will lose developers which of course is pretty bad for them.”

Capcom had already made mention of something like this, claiming its losing “millions” because of the outage.

    im sure they will!
allot of devs are loosing a hell of allot of money because of PSNs downtime, not to mention all the marketing they had to pull.
this is why you should never put all your eggs into one basket!
if they had released at retail too at least they would have that to fall back on, and they could use all there marketing for that instead of having it wasted.
oh well, as the saying goes nothing lost, nothing gained!
