The rumors had become too loud for Remedy Entertainment to simply keep quite about an impending Alan Wake title, so much so that the studio’s head of franchise Oskari Hakkinen confirmed that there’s indeed a new game in the making. Catch is, it’s not Alan Wake 2 – but it’s an all new Alan Wake title.
“Fans of the franchise will be excited to learn that yes, more Wake is coming! But to be absolutely certain to avoid confusion, this next Wake installment will not be Alan Wake 2. And neither will it be DLC,” Hakkinen told Eurogamer.
While platforms were yet unconfirmed, the dev said “fall 2011″ is a good guess for its release. As for the new game, it’ll give more to fans of the first, but leave room for newcomers to jump on board.
This after rumor broke yesterday concerning an industry worker who said he’s done work on Alan Wake 2.

they need a prequel explaining how the darkness was created, would be nice if it took you back to tom and the lady of lights story.
i still have not played the 2nd DLC, so i really need to get to that before this comes out.
