That game Homefront. It simply won’t die. Doesn’t matter how many times critics knock the Kaos Studios-developed shooter, it keeps on placing high on game sales charts across the west. Even the mighty Crysis 2 from Crytek couldn’t kick Homefront down, and taking a closer peek at the aforementioned two, we realize Homefront’s doing much better, and that’s while being one of the lowest scoring shooters this generation.
Via VG Chartz and per ms-xboxworld, the Xbox 360 version of Crysis 2 has sold 692,037 units, averaging at around 60,000 per week. Compared to Homefront that has sold 1,046,013 after 5 weeks of chart data.
On PS3, Homefront has sold 489,632 units and Crysis 2 coming in close at 452,503 units.
It’s amazing, isn’t it? One game becomes a hit amongst critics but sells less, while the other low-scoring title rakes in way more money than its rival.
