DICE: Battlefield 3 PS3 And Xbox 360 Version Are Identical

by Ernice Gilbert on April 21st, 2011, under EA, Hot, News, PC, PS3, Xbox 360

Don’t expect to see any massive difference between the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Battlefield 3, as DICE has confirmed that there’ll be virtually none.

That’s the reassurance DICE boss Patrick Bach tried to relay to gamers while speaking in an interview with Xbox World, adding, however, that they rather show than talk.

“Our philosophy is to not to talk about things we cannot prove and this is true also when it comes to the quality of the Xbox 360 version of the game,”" he said.

“All of the core game systems (animation, destruction, rendering, audio etc.) are the same on all platforms so there will not be a difference when it comes to the general experience of the game. Some technicalities will of course be different due to larger memory and the graphics cards you can have on the PC. We are trying to push the envelope of FPS games in general and this will be obvious in all versions of the game.

Looking back to what quality we achieved with Battlefield Bad Company 2 last year we do know how to make high quality games on all platforms.”

Battlefield 3 comes out this fall for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

theres always differences between the 2 due to such different architecture.
360 games tend to run in 720P, but to get the same detail and smooth frame rate allot of devs have to drop the ps3 version to sub HD.
as long as the PC versions look like what it does in the trailers ill be happy.
i hope we get to use allot more air strikes in this game, and allot more tactics.
BFBC was such a awesome game, you could really use your weapons tactically.
do you use a air strike to destroy a enemy tank, or to take out a bridge stopping enemies and tanks from making it over?
BFBC was so open, so unrestricted, so do whatever the hell you want!
BFBC2 on the other hand was quite the opposite!
theres so many invisible walls, building destructions not as good, you were forced to use air strikes for certain things.
BFBC was tactical, it let you play the game how you wanted.
BFBC2 was quite the opposite, it was go over here kill everyone, go over there kill everyone, rinse and repeat.
    no tactics what so ever!
hope this is a hell of allot longer too!
BFBC2 only took me around 6 hours to finish!
