Naughty Dog’s going to new levels with Uncharted 3 when it comes to social media. “I don’t think anyone else has gone to that level to bring Facebook within the game. People usually do it the other way around. We are the first ones who are doing this,” said Christophe Balestra, Naughty Dog co-founder. YouTube is also being utilized.
At the start menu, players can view a “feed” that shows all their Facebook friends on PSN, and we’ll be notified if they’ve posted any updates or videos.
What Naughty Dog’s trying to accomplish is for Uncharted 3 players to interact often with their Facebook friends just as they do with their PSN buddies. “You can talk to them and you can invite them to your party,” Balestra said. Also, players can post videos of their multiplayer matches providing they are less than 90 seconds long. Each multiplayer session is stored on the hard drive of the PS3, and simply going into video file will allow you to edit as neccessary. You can add voice to a character, move the camera around, and share the video. Your friends can even assist with editing.
As for YouTube videos, the best stuff uploaded have the chance to be featured on Uncharted TV, and you won’t need to do much in terms of uploading, as there’s a direct YouTube link in the game’s features.
These guys are not messing around.
Thanks, USA Today.

what for?
i cant understand the point of spending time and money on these silly features.
why not put the time and money spent implementing these things into other more important things like DLC?
one thing that not only ND but every developer needs to do is take a look at valve.
the reason they have such a large fanbase, and everyone loves them is because of the amount of support they give there fans and games!
they give the community tools to create new things for there game, and they create new things for their game themselves.
all these guys complaining about used game sales, and the DRM and online code molakia BS!
perfect way to stop that from happening, is actually support your game!
if your giving people tools for there games, and new content for there games, there not going to get rid of it!
unless obviously if they dont like the game, that theres no solution for.
They’re trying to make the game as popular as possible and I see why…. This could very well be the go-to PS3 title for MP…..It’s looking hot!
