Anonymous will stop attacking PSN, the group has announced, coming to the realization that negative press was hurting their cause amongst the gamer crowd. The group said it’ll now look for new ways to attack Sony, and demanded three things from the hardware giant that would cause them to stop all attacks.
“We realize that targeting the PSN is not a good idea. We have therefore temporarily suspended our action, until a method is found that will not severely impact Sony customers,” a post on the gang’s news site announced.
“Anonymous is on your side, standing up for your rights. We are not aiming to attack customers of Sony. This attack is aimed solely at Sony, and we will try our best to not affect the gamers, as this would defeat the purpose of our actions. If we did inconvenience users, please know that this was not our goal.”
Anonymous is backpedaling because the press it received was overly negative, giving the group a rather nasty name amongst gamers as some of its members reportedly went after Sony employees and their children.
Meanwhile, the group’s released yet another video demanding certain actions from Sony that’d cause them to cease all attacks. They include:
1- Sony must allow for end-user modification of the PS3, as was available prior to the 3.21 firmware update.
2- Sony must end any attempts to bring legal action to alter a product they own.
3- Sony must not pursue legal action against any collected IP address.

LOL! In other words, they were not able to do anything else after Sony brought in outside help. Sony will not back down. They have done nothing wrong and are just trying to get the person who did.
Agreed. I’ve had not problems with PSN over here. Not one glitch or anything. In fact, I’d like to think the service is working even better..
lol. You lose, anonymous.
i have had problems… tryin to sign onto psn i keep gettin kicked out …
awwwwwwww, come on!

i was only half way through my popcorn.
@ Afro: Yeah, I know some people had problems. Thank God this nonsense is coming to an end, at least the attacking PSN part.
@Nick – the movie’s done. I hope for good. Now let’s get back to gaming!
i couldnt sign on at all last night
not too bad as the football was on but im glad they have agreed to stop the backlash on PSN. Some one i drink with in the pub claims to be part of the team that produced the jailbreak, im sure you get these tails in every pub accross the globe, however he seems quite genuine, hes always dealt in Sony and ps3 and he doesnt work anymore now as he claims Sony threatened his company with leal action and shut hum down.
Oh and Thanks again Ernice, i searched google for a while looking for reasons as to why PSN was down all night, Then i thought, Games thirst might know, and low and behold there it was straight away!
@foxton
We got you covered when it comes to gaming news, and if we do not have what you are looking for, just comment on one of the stories and ask us what you are trying to find out, and we will find it.
ok lol. whats netfix?!! i see people talking about it and people using it on my psn friends list. What is it and what does it do??
Are you located in the United States? If not, then that is the reason you have never heard of it. It is a movie rental and streaming service that can be used on computers and consoles, but only in the US.
ah, no im not, im in england. Sounds the same as Vidzone over here, which is pretty much like mtv on demand, thousands upon thousands of free music videos you can stream to your tv. We also have love film through your ps3 where you can buy all the latest dvd releases and stream straight through your ps3. Thanks for that though.
