Activision vs Former Infinity Ward Devs West And Zampella Case Takes New Direction

Cast your minds back to last year, Infinity Ward and the now infamous bust up with Activision is taking a rather interesting turn.

If you remember, Jason West and Vince Zampella started the ball rolling by sueing their publisher for wrongfull dismissal. Claiming it was timed so that Activision wouldn’t have to pay them millions in royalties.

The plot thickened when Activision then counter sued, saying that West and Zampella held up preprodution of Modern Warfare 3 whilst secretly dealing with there main rivals, EA.

It has recently surfaced on the internet that the two former heads of Infinity ward are now trying to wrestle back part ownership of the Modern Warfare IP. Now I’m no industry analyst but part ownership of a BILLION DOLLAR franchise is a huge deal.

Also this would mean that West and Zampella would be allowed to develop new games under the Modern Warfare title. Presumably these new games if ever made would be for there new Publisher EA……..

I’m watching this like a hawk because it looks to become a Clash of the Titans. While the two developers are asking for millions in compensation. It seems the true prize, the rights to the biggest game of all time, is up for grabs.

DING DING……..Round 1!!

I hope West and Zampella win this one. Publishers are money hungry machines who only care about their senior members earnings.
I’d like to kick Kotick right in his ginger face. I hate seeing his picture.

hmmmmmm, this makes me wonder if will be seeing MW3 this year.
if what there saying is true, they own the license to the modern warfare series and releasing a game without there permission would put antivision in allot of hot water!
but, eh, when has that ever stopped them?

Activision will release the game and deal with the repercussions later…that’s how they do stuff.
