It’s looking like Battlefield 3′s shaping up to be a masterpiece, but one that will undoubtedly be better, in almost every way, on PC. Not only will online 64-player matches be limited to the PC version, with consoles seeing only 24-player team ups, word just broke that maps in the game will be smaller on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
A DICE spokesperson has told CERFY that because the console version of Battlefield 3 will only allow for 24-player MP matches, the decision has been made to scale the maps down on PS3 and Xbox 360.
The downscaling, however, is only limited to ground battles, as Aerial fights will play out across the same area as they do on the PC game.
DICE is intendedly paying much attention to the PC version of the hotly anticipated title, with designer Alan Kerz stating the game “needs an extra bit of special attention on the PC. I intend to give it that attention, tradition and our community demand it.”
It comes out in Q4 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

It’s moments like this i wish I didn’t use macs
.
I’m the game will be awesome anyway but still.
that is why i am going to build a gaming pc just for this game.
PC is the way to go, guys. But it’ll still be awesome on consoles.
FINALLY!
a developer who makes a game FOR PC then ports it to consoles!
unlike crytek………
what happened to your motto crytek?
maximum game?
yea, maximum game, thats why crysis 2 uses a API which is over 6 years old!
which is OLDER then the API crysis used!
i always knew crysis 2 on PC was going to be hurt by it coming out on consoles, but never did i think it would be this bad!
i mean a 2011 game not supporting DX11?
now thats just pathetic!
cant believe crytek have treated their fans like this!
dont forget who got you where you are crytek, you would be nobody in the gutter sniffing schnapps if it was not for PC gamers!
and this is how you thank us!?
PC will be definitive. No doubt.
