Weekend Quencher 03/18/11 – Crysis 2′s Crisis, Edition

There’s something wrong about talking too soon, or hailing your own work that’s not yet proven as beyond and above anything, anywhere. It’s called bragging, and people hate it. It changes their perception about you instantly, and suddenly, like an innate human instinct, they want you to make a mistake.

If you live up to your boasting, then good for you – they’ll dance and laugh with you. But if you fail, they’ll crucify you and feed your body to pigeons. In the eyes of many PS3 owners, Crytek’s let them down, and in their minds, the developer and its game could as well go to hell.

It’s the weekend, friends, what’s happening in your part of town?

I’m talking about Crytek and its incessant boasting about Crysis 2. The company said the PS3 version of the game would be the best. Then it said both console versions would look identical, and then they uttered such travesties like saying they’d maxed out both Sony and Microsoft’s machines.

Crysis 2 was supposed to be the best looking game consoles had ever seen, but judging from the comparisons that came pouring as soon as the PS3 MP demo went up, it was obvious isn’t. Upon that, gamers couldn’t get into a match and the graphics on 360 outstripped PS3. It was a massive mess as PS3 owners the world over started venting their disgust.

EA’s response? Pull the game from PSN in order to save face and some sales, as the game releases next Tuesday. We want to hear your thoughts on that situation.

As for the weekend, I’ll not be doing much, however I’ll get in some Killzone 3 MP action. Any of you guys could join me.

Food sale early tomorrow morning in an effort to raise funds for my local church’s annual easter camp out. After that my family and I will gather to have a good time at my mother’s. Sunday’s church, of course. Monday back to work.

Boring, I know. How about your weekend? Any plans? Share it!

my father just got back from china so will be going out for dinner tonight.
dont really want to, its been raining cats and dogs my god ive never seen so much water in my life!
almost ready to get the ARK out!
    started motorstorm apocalypse yesterday.
i dunno, its just no where near as fun as the previous 2 games.
split second is so similar, and a hell of allot more fun!
the controls seem really weird too, the first 2 were distinct arcade controls which they should be for this type of game, but this is kinda in between of a arcade and sim.
just does not suit the game at all!

no, they signed a new contract over a few months ago so his company needed to send a few people over to show them how to build the machines.
