Battlefield 3 Get Its Console Lead On PS3

Although PC is the lead platform for DICE’s stunner, Battlefield 3, on the console side of things, PS3′s taking the lead role.

That, however, does not mean the console versions will be grossly different, as the company assures you won’t even be able to tell the difference between PS3 and Xbox 360.

“Not done until we ship, a bit early to make fair comparisons between the two but ps3 has a lead by offloading gpu w/ SPU,” said Christina Ann Coffin, a Frostbite Engine Coder at DICE via twitter.

Interesting piece of information there. Obviously the PC version is King, but will there be noticeable differences between the console version? Although DICE says no, It’s a question only hands-on time with both can answer.

Yes I got that. They really did a great job with it. That was a pretty great game. Looking forward to this though. Looks leaps beyond the competition.

You can see that Battlefield 3 is going to be a complex and well built game. I guess that is why it is leading with the PS3. I consider the XBOX to be the Dumb Developer Platform…. I like how some developers whined at how difficult the PS3 was to design for, in the beginning.
Don’t get me wrong. I own a 360 but mainly for exclusives. As of right now it is sitting on a shelf next to the RROD one.

that is my set up too. I have my RROD one next to my good xbox, and my ps3 in the other room. By the way, I have had 6 xbox 360′s.

i have not paid for all of them. I have only bought 2 and the other were under warranty, so I got them “fixed” for free.

Yeah. I like the “free” part. Did they extend the warranty for the length of time they had the unit(s)?

the warranty was through the store that I bought it from, and they fixed it, not MS.
