You might not remember this, but Xbox 360 exclusive Alan Wake was first boasted as a PC masterpiece. But as time traveled, and the game started to take shape, Microsoft, the company funding the title, decided that it should be an Xbox 360 exclusive.
That’s according to Remedy’s Markus Maki, speaking to CVG at GDC.
“I can’t really discuss that,” he told the site when pressed concerning the PC cancellation, adding, “I will say that it wasn’t a technological call. And it wasn’t made in Finland.”
If it wasn’t Remedy’s call, who was it, then? Obviously it was MS’s. But why? Obvious reasons. 360 needs some exclusive titles, Alan Wake was looking like a hit, so why not make it a 360 exclusive? That’s what went down, and although it might have helped the Xbox’s lineup, it did no good for Remedy entertainment.

it was suppose to be a ps3, PC and 360 game but when they signed with M$ obviously they had to cut the ps3 version.
so why would they wait years, spending millions of dollars to then cut the PC version?
why not cut it when they dropped the ps3 version?
for years they showed only PC footage, then a few months before release they finally show the 360 footage and a few months later announce the PC drop.
its discussing how M$ are treating their own platform!
talk about the bastard child!
Not cool.
