That rumor concerning Bungie’s new game being a Massively Multiplayer Online title was true, with the Halo developer making a formal announcement of the project at GDC.
Speaking at the event, the studio’s lead network engineer David Aldrige said the new title is a “massively multiplayer action game.”
He broke the news while discussing netcode and multiplayer, on a topic titled “I Shot You First: Networking the Gameplay of Halo: Reach”.
Aldrige said the game won’t be World of Warcraft in space, however no further details were released. Nothing.
It’ll be published by Activision as part of a ten-year contract Bungie’s signed with the mega-publisher. Bungie, however, will retain the right to the IP.
The game’s also said to have something for everyone in it.

Not on consoles.
true, but consoles have too many restrictions for MMOs to work.
