Warner Bros. Will Appeal Australian Mortal Kombat Ban

It was a sad day for Australian gamers when word broke that Mortal Kombat was banned in the country. But if Warner Bros., the game’s publisher, get its way, there could be a happy ending to this unhappy story.

According to IGN, Warner Bros. has confirmed it will appeal the ban according to a statement released by the firm.

“After careful consideration Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment Australia have decided to appeal to the Australian Classification Review Board against the RC (Refused Classification) decision given to Mortal Kombat.” it reads.

“After reviewing both the game play and the Boardâ€™s original decision WBIE Australia believe the violence in the game is on par with numerous other titles readily available for sale in the Australian market.

As such the company wants to exhaust all options to make the game available to Mortal Kombat fans in this country. An identical version of the game will be submitted for appeal.”

The Mortal Kombat reboot will go on sale April 19th in the U.S. and on the 21st of the same month in Europe.

their argument is theres heaps of games out with the MA rating which are the same or just as graphic as MK.
which is true, cough splatterhouse, cough dead space 2, cough GOW3.
but there not going to agree, they better think of a better argument otherwise this is dead before being born!
