New Vid Shows Six Minutes Of Crysis 2 In Action With Maxed Out PC Settings

by Ernice Gilbert on February 14th, 2011, under Crytek, EA, News

Now that Crysis 2′s been leaked, videos for the game are showing up all over the place. This one shows it in action on a PC with maxed out settings.

It’s rather hot.

Video Thirst: Guilty Pleasures

EA awarded Crytek millions of dollars to develop Crysis 2, and after spending countless days, nights – even years to build the game, someone leaked the full thing and now everyone’s playing it for free.

I suspect some of your are, too. Guilty pleasures. I’ll stay far away.

Quench it:

Good point Ghost. I think it looks good, but I’ll have to test it out before I make a decision.

crysis 2 sucks because it doesn’t have balls of steel

LOL. I was very disappointed with the demo on xbox. I am sure it will run and look better on pc, but I do not have the money to buy a pc. So, I am passing on this game for now. I have plenty of other games to play this year.

thats not maxed out settings, the leaked version is DX9 the full retail version will have DX11 so there will be heaps of other effects available for tweaking if you have a high enough spec PC.
a friend at tafe showed me this today, looks so freaking good!
im amazed how large the levels are, most games have you batteling in say a room but the battles in crysis 2 make you feel like your in not a room but a city!
    there freaking massive!
i was really worried seeing the game go from open jungle to closed city, but my worries were unfounded the battles are bigger and better!
got to remember this build was compiled in early january 7th i think it was so its already a month old, and will be over 2 months old by release!
the retail version will look allot better than this because of the DX11 support, and because of the extra 2 months worth of polish.
it was a really interesting read though, theres a .txt file in there that describes all the bugs they have had.
my god, think of a harry potter book times 50!
would take you 16 years just to read all the text in there!
seeing this has made me that much more excited for it!
i was worried about the leave from PC to consoles, and the leave from open jungles to cities but this is bigger and better than crysis!
only thing so far thats disappointed me is the damage model.
blow grenades up in front of enemies taking cover, and the cover is not even scratched!
    WTF?
oh well, still cant wait till it comes out hopefully ill be home by then to pick it up!

Good to see you’re excited about it still. I’m still waiting on a demo or something.

i just cant believe how big the worlds are!
it honestly makes you feel like your actually in NYC, i mean look into the sky and all you can see is skyscrapers!
best thing about this game is its openness and its AI.
most games funnel you into a room and battles take place from there, you stay on one level and in front of enemies at all times.
this though lets you take the battle wherever you want, enemies could be on the ground so you can go into a building run up the stairs onto the roof and snipe them from there.
or you can hop into the sewers and sneak underneath the enemies get behind them and surprise them from behind.
theres so many different ways to take out the enemies.
best thing about it though is you cant just sit in one spot, say you go to the roof and snipe enemies within moments enemys will be strolling up the stairs shooting you, they follow you EVERYWHERE!
unlike KZ3 the enemies actually follow you, they actually react to your actions instead of just sitting behind cover 24/7.

thats what i wanted to see in KZ3, the demo was a good start but its all predictable.
the enemy just stays behind cover no matter what you do, and no matter where you go its much more restrictive it does not have the surprise element crysis 2 has.
KZ3 kinda lets you move around, but enemies can see you at all times, where crysis 2 makes it that if you move around enemies cant see you, well until you start blasting their heads off!
it actually lends a little of tactility to the game, actually makes the player think things out instead of going guns blazing as soon as they see someone!
i was really worried about this, i thought crytek sold their soul to the devil!
i was wrong though, a game has not impressed me this much since heavenly sword came out!
    hats off to crytek!
getting a game this large working on the PC is a immense task, but getting it working on consoles?
    god dam!
