Uncharted 3 Made Like A Hollywood Movie

Naughty Dog must be feeling pressure right now, as their last game was the best thing the industry had seen in ages. It received over a hundred Game of The Year awards, and have stamped the studio’s name amongst the best of them for all time.

So it’s with little surprise we receive news that they’re working much harder than they’ve ever worked to make Uncharted 3 a huge success, even going the extra mile to take steps normally only taken in Hollywood.

“We have two motion capture spaces – a smaller one in the studio that lets us pick up smaller pieces, like idols, and then we have a dedicated stage at Sony Studios, and that’s where we get both the motion capture and the audio – because we do all of the dialogue at the same time – for both gameplay and cinematics,” Naughty Dog community strategist Arne Meyer told the US PS Blog.

“It’s big enough for us to set up and perform everything from rehearsals to the final performances, and that approach, which is basically the same as producing a major motion picture, is what makes the performances so fluid and realistic in our games. When we’re in full swing, we’re doing new motion capture every week.”

“We truly feel that they are part of the studio and they come down a lot on their own. Between working with them solidly for such a long period of time, and giving them input into what their characters are and should be, it’s collaborative and totally in the spirit of how Naughty Dog operates.

They feel invested in Uncharted, and it’s really appreciated when they take the time out to come along with us to events. They’re popular around the studio and we generally just like having them around.”

Uncharted 3 will come out later this year exclusively for the PS3.

tis a monumental task, but if anyone can do it ND can!
as much as i love uncharted, i wish they would do a new crash bandicoot game!
or at least a HD collection.
dunno which one was my favorite, 2 or 3.
2 had better level design and more proper platforming, but 3 had all the gadgets and boss battles.
probably 2, just had a better feel to it, feels more traditional old school too.

radical entertainment own the license now, they will probably go bankrupt soon so that will be the perfect opportunity for sony to buy it back!
