Hacker George Hotz aka Geohot has been ordered by the US District Court for the Northern District of California to hand over to Sony’s lawyers any computers or storage media used to create the PS3 jailbreak. It’s the latest turn in events as Sony was granted a temporary restraining order against the hacker.
This order, and all the attributes of it, also applies to FailOverflow members both local and abroad, although it’s hard-pressed you’d find any of the overseas members to make their way here for a hearing.
The restraining order prevents them from distributing or linking to the PS3 jailbreak; helping or encouraging others to jailbreak; hacking into the PS3 or PSN, or distributing any information they’ve found while hacking.
