It’s the perfect case of “*&$^! Why did I had to say such stupid things!”
But it’s already done, and the closest thing to coming out clean, is saying you might have been wrong. In Pachter’s case, he now says, PSP2 might be successful, and that his “‘DOA’ comment was based upon an assessment that Sony won’t price it right”.
That’s what he said while speaking to Industry Games recently, adding he’s been wrong in the past and he might be again.
“We can’t rule out the ‘dead on arrival’ PSP2, which is likely to be introduced [next year], and if it has the right feature set and is competitively priced, it could actually perform well in the marketplace,” he said.
“My ‘DOA’ comment was based upon an assessment that Sony won’t price it right (look at the PSPgo), but of course, I have been wrong once or twice before, so maybe they’ll surprise me.”

I have never seen someone who contradicts himself so much. He makes stupid predictions, and then takes them back. When is he going to lose his job? I have a prediction though. From what I have been looking at, I predict a ps3 price drop to happen sometime soon after E3. I am looking at late August or September. Its console sales have fallen a little, and I am sure they were disappointed with the November sales, since it is the biggest month of the year, due to black friday. It will also be two years since the release of the slim model, and they have had enough time to try to find a way to produce it at a cheaper manufacturer cost. It will also be perfect year to drop the price because of all of the games coming out. So I see at least a $50 price cut or even maybe a $100 price cut, and it will drive sales up rapidly, especially if Uncharted 3 is releasing.
Damnit, why you’re not in Pachter’s position is beyond me, Bro. That’s the best prediction I’ve heard all year. And it’s very possible too.
