For Dead Space 2, Fans Requested Multiplayer The Most

by Ernice Gilbert on December 8th, 2010, under EA, Hot, News, Visceral

Dead Space 2, unlike the first, will feature a very compelling online multiplayer component, and according to the game’s executive producer, Steve Papoutsis, the reason they went in said direction’s because it was the “most requested” feature from the fans.”

That’s what he said while speaking to GamerZines in a recent interview, adding they wanted to not only listen to fans but add in some of their requests, and the addition of a multiplayer component just “made sense”.

“Given that feedback we wanted to deliver a game that our players would enjoy and listening to what they listed as the number one feature addition made sense,” he said.

Papoutsis also said there will be similarities with Left 4 Dead, and he didn’t think all horror games needed a “team-based competitive survival” style, but with Dead Space 2 “the approach” the developers took simply “made sense for our particular game”.

Buy it on January 25th, for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
