While many hold the belief that soon, games will only be delivered digitally, there are yet many big names in the industry who hold the belief that come the future, hard copies or packaged goods, will still dominate the industry.
Take-Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick is one of the believers, and today at the Reuters Global Media Summit, the boss shared his thoughts.
“I still think in five years the packaged goods business will dominate,” he said. “It’s kind of irrelevant to us — basically the same gross margin, basically the same risk.”
So what’s you take on this, will the GameStop still be viable in the next ten years, and do you even care?

most people dont have the bandwidth, or speed for digital games.
when i can download LBP in 1 hour, not 6 than maybe ill consider it.

somebodys been puffing on the magic dragon, i dont think we will go into a digital age for a very long time, considering the pspgo to be an example of what digital only device has been looked at, i didnt buy a pspgo specifically for the reason that it was only digital, i really hope sony doesn’t try to push more digital crap on us with the psp2.

the adverage ISP account gives you 6GBs of download usage a month, you need to pay out the hole if you want more!
how many games are you going to get for 6GBs?
DD wont hit us till everyone has access to unlimited download usages, and that wont happen for a long, long, LONG time!
for example the AU GOV just started replacing copper lines with fiber optics, things the US did DECADES ago!
thats not going to be completed for another 12 bloody years!
