The creator of popular PS3 exclusive title Yakuza, has been working a robot shooter to be published by Sega for some time now.
Toshihiro Nagoshi’s new game’s dubbed Binary Domain, and will see a release on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
A trailer, screens and more details – the full quencher’s past the break.
The Quencher Begins: It Happens In The Future
Binary Domain takes place in 2080 in Tokyo during a conflict between humans and robots, where the city has been split into two: rich folks poor folks, with the latter representing what the City looks like in the game – a place of chaos and destruction.
Here’s Toshihiro Nagoshi on his new effort:
“What I wanted to create this time was a dramatic and energetic sci-fi shooter. When you hear sci-fi you may think of cold, clinical environments but with Binary Domain I wanted to combine this with a deep human drama,” he said.
The keyword we have in mind for this project is “Lifeâ€. I wanted to make something that will be accepted by both the Japanese and Western markets and this fundamental theme is something everyone knows, but which the full extent of can be difficult to grasp.”
Binary Domain’s AI will be a huge focus for Nagoshi and his team, with Sega adding it’ll “make the battlefield a more compelling experience than ever before.”
Video Thirst: Have I Seen This Before?
In the vid, you’ll see what you’ve most probably gotten used to: guns shooting, humans robots dying and soldiers trash-talking. It also reminds of Vanquish in a sense.
But yes, the mechs are well armed and so are you – let the wars begin.

Sega’s also made available some new screenshots for the game, find them below:
Not date of release has been announced. Expect more info to hit the web soon.

It’s an I Robot game. I know this is an early video of the game, but it looks very generic. They have a lot of work to do.
Sorry, but this looks generic… Hope it gets better as more unfolds.
But it looks rather generic.
I guess we posted this comment at the same time, but I was saying the same thing… I’m not at all thrilled by this.
It brings nothing new to the table.
I know it just looks like another shooter. Where are all of the fun and creative games from last gen. like Jak and Daxter. I would like to sequels to those and I would like to see new creative games like those.
*Ernice takes a closer look at vid, left in a state of…..”I dunno”*
meh i’ll pass
i honestly can see this gen being my last gen of gaming.
i dunno, im just sick of playing the same game over and over and over and over again!
honestly almost every game released the past few years plays and feels like at least 10 other games, its just getting really boring!
ANOTHER SHOOTER!?
sigh.
come on developers, seriously how many times can we play the same game?
i love ice cream, everyone loves ice cream but how long do you think that would last if you had nothing but that to eat for a year?
@Ghost, give it a chance, bro…. You never know!
But truly, it looks sad.
