Long gone are the days when the name Sony would make all Nintendo execs faces turn into a boatload of fear. That was then, what’s now, then? No competition; at least no longer Sony and even Microsoft. For Nintendo, Apple’s the main lion in the jungle, especially when considering the astronomical rise of the iPhone and iPod touch.
That’s according to Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aime, speaking to Forbes recently. He said he competes with everything, from Farmville creator Zynga, to the local newspaper; he’s biggest threat, though, Apple.
“Do I think that in the near term they can hurt us more than Microsoft? Absolutely,” he said of Apple.
Of course, Reggie, just release the Wii 2, or Wii HD soon enough and not even Apple will be able to reach you.
