Full NPD September Hardware Sales Numbers

by Ernice Gilbert on October 15th, 2010, under Hot, News

Although NPD won’t be releasing its complete sales numbers to the public anymore, don’t be afraid, there are more than enough people with that inside information who are more than willing to let it loose to the masses.

Wedbush Morgan Securities Ananalyst Michael Pachter’s one of them. Find the full thing past the break.

Again, the Xbox 360 topped the charts selling close to 500,000 units for the month of September, making it the only console to realize year-over-year gains. PS3 on the other hand saw a decline of 37 percent, with the Wii realizing the biggest drop of 45 percent.

Here’s the full quencher:

Xbox 360: 483,989 Units (Up 37% Year Over Year)
DS: 403,000 Units (Down 23% Year Over Year)
PS3: 312,000 Units (Down 37% Year Over Year)
Wii: 254,000 Units (Down 45% Year Over Year)

Thanks, NeoGAF.

not surprised the wii has plummeted.
the novelty has worn off, they have not had many games this year besides metroid and mario which are milked to death!
ninty really need to get the 3Ds out, drop the price, than get to work on a HD wii.
but it has to be more than that, a HD wii would be a ps3 but without the wide variety of games.
so they need to add or change something to give people the reason to buy it, having the unique nostalgic games wont be enough.
i think people are starting to get sick of them too, i mean how many times can you play the same mario, or metroid, or zelda game?
they need to bring in new series, and change there old ones, bring something new so it feels like a new game, not a new version of a old game.

I agree with your whole comment in full. Really good points there.
